when i go to turn the motor it turns over really fast and the oil pressure gauge starts jumping up and down and it will turn to start but wont... any help??? its a 03 truck with a 06 motor and tranny 6.0
Could be many issues. Can you scan for codes with a scantool? Does this problem only happen when warm, or all the time? The gauge on the dash is for the LPO system, but your problem could be the HPO system if the issue only happens when warm
this is the first time this has happen it does have no power until it warmed up so i started plugging it up at home been when i got off work last night it started doing this it started fine like it always did when it is cold but it ran for a few mins then shut off and now it wont start
I just got through with the same problem. It was the high pressure oil pump. It could be leaking some where in the engine or the pump is bad. $2700 repair bill! Mine is an '03 also.
His engine is from an 06, and they had that HPOP redesigned after the 03-04 failures :thumb:. Regardless, anything can fail
