Ok so I got some bad fuel with water and particles I got the truck home it was running horrible smoking shaking and stalled a couple times. Water in fuel light did come on. When I went to drain the water out of the separator I found out the allen head had been striped out.so I drained fuel and water by pulling the filter out and reinstalling. I have done this several times now the last time I started the truck it was running about a min or so then started to act like it was out if fuel and died. Now it is a no start I turn the key and everything goes blank nothing happens. Like the battery is dead our a bad ground. What could be giving me the issue? Separator plugged causing the ecm to not allow it to start? Could the cylinders have filed with water from fuel and water locked? FICM taking a dump?
When you say "turn the key and nothing happens" like you don't get anything? No fuel pump sound, starter, etc?
If that's the case, your batteries are dead, hook up a tender and charge both of them to 100% before trying to crank over again. Letting the batteries go dead is bad joo joo for these motors.
Ok, so once that's done and you've got power, go under the hood and remove the fuel filter cap, have someone turn the key to the "On" position (just before actually cranking the motor), does the bowl fill up with fuel?
If so, that means you're getting fuel to the motor. If not, check to make sure you have the fuel filter caps on good a snug so there's no pressure leaks in the system, turn the key off then back to the "On" position, do you hear the fuel pump turn on? If not, pull down the kick panel on the passenger front side and hit the fuel pump reset switch. Turn key off then back on, do you get the fuel pump to turn on now? If not, check your fuses.
When I turn the key on the glow plugs cycle and the pump comes on as soon as I go to start everything cuts out and it seems like its tripping a circuit when that happens. Ill check for that fuel pump breaker tonight.
