A few weeks ago I did the oil and EGR cooler on my truck. After that, I noticed that I had a little surge in the turbo at low RPMs under light load, especially when the motor is cold. I originally thought the computer needed to relearn its settings or something like that, but its been quite a few miles, and I dont think thats the case anymore.
Ive done some research on the interweb and its seems theres typically a few culprits. A bad EBP sensor, bad VGT actuator, or a bad oil line (There is even a TSB about the latter).
I took the EBP sensor off, shot it with some carb cleaner (wasnt really clogged), and reinstalled it. That didnt help anything.
How can I check to see if the VGT actuator is sticking or contaminated? Id hate to shell out a few hundred bucks to replace a perfectly working part.
The truck ran perfectly before the new coolers. No codes either.
