Will a Coolant filter work?

I had oil in my degas bottle in my 03 6.0. I flushed the system and replace the oil cooler, deleted the EGR, and replaced as many rad hoses as I could. I just ordered a new degas bottle as well. I am in the process of flushing the heck out of my cooling system. I cant seem the get the sucker completely clean and it is starting to get frustrating. I am wondering about hooking up a coolant filter. Does anyone know if the filter will filter out the oily residue or will the oil just pass through the filter and not skip a beat?
