Throttle drops to idle
Hi...I have a 06 F-250 and have developed an issue with the throttle dropping to idle and staying there. Leading up to this for a few days, the throttle began to cut out and surge uncommanded. A couple of times, I had a probelm getting it started. Yesterday going to work, I had a problem when I came to a stop sign and went to take off. The throttle would not rise above idle for a good 10 seconds, then it took off. It did some surging and cutting out for the next 15 minutes to work. When I came home, I had a hard time getting it to start, but then it ran fairly well all the way home. I planned to buy some fuel filters and change this morning. When I started the truck, all was good. I went to the parts store and bought the fuel filters. 2 minutes after leaving, the throttle cut to idle and would not move from there. I was on the side of the road and couldn't get above idle. I turned the truck off and then couldn't get it to start. 10 minutes later it started and ran normally for the remaining 5 minutes trip home. I'm thinking the fuel filters aren't going to solve this, so I'm looking for help.
Is this possible the electronic throttle control?
