ficm

has anyone had any luck with getting a ficm fixed?
i need a ficm but don't have money to buy a new one.
i am also in need of a mechanic in the Calgary, Alberta area that might want to trade his time for something ( i am a skid-steer operator) my truck has a under 2000 rpm problem and our other ford 6.0 has massive running problems as well. any help would be great
thanks
chris

You can get it rebuilt with higher quality parts at Swamps Diesel. Its gonna run around 300 - 350 bucks plus shipping it to Tennessee and back.

There is also some guy on fleabay that will just resolder the existing parts to the board (which is the typical failure) for a bit less. I do not recall what that runs.

You could try the FICM repair procedure yourself as well, but be forewarned that if you do attempt the repair and fail, then decide to send it off, nobody will accept your FICM as a core.

Dude get the Swamps one, mine failed and they are fixing it no questions asked seeing that it was within the year warranty period. It is like the 7th one that has failed in a few years according to them but still is nice to have the warranty. They also ship USPS to help save on brokerage fees incurred using fedex and ups.
