would only take 4.5 gallons coolant
I was flushing my coolant system (just water). I yanked the bottom hose to get everything out. When I went to rerill it it would only take 3 gallons of water and 1.5 gallons of coolant. In't the capacity almost 7 gallons?

The best way to refill with coolant it to flush with water and then add 3.5 gal of concentrate to the degas bottle. You should now have about a 50/50 mix. This is why your last few flushes need to be with bottled water. If you fill with 50/50 premix then I don't think you will ever get the mix right as the block holds a lot of coolant that won't drain out the radiator. Refill with Cat EC-1 rated extended life coolant. The Ford Gold coolant is junk!!
