p0401 EGR Code
Truck is back at the dealer after throwing a p0401 code for the past month off and on. This is the ONLY code it has thrown. I pulled the EGR valve and cleaned it very well, which fixed the problem for 1K miles or so, but it came back, and now the truck won't make it 15 miles w/o the light coming on.
Never did I notice a dip in performance until lately when my already sluggish acceleration has been worse. Truck still takes 2 to 3 seconds to gather, but no longer scares me once it takes off if you know what I mean.
The dealer is telling me the manifold needs to be cleaned, turbo drain kit, and a new EGR valve. Problem is they have no conviction it will fix my issue when they talk to me, and they are trying to bend me over w/o any lube on the pricing. First surprise(should have walked but didn't) was the $285 diagnostic charge when I dropped the truck off. Figured that could go to fixing anything, not too big of deal, then I got hit with the below email:

That is a grand total of $1558+. Two thirds of it labor, to fix this.
Has anyone else had only this code? My truck has 107K miles, the EGR valve was replaced at 93K, and still have the EGR Cooler. Had the oil cooler replaced at 97K miles, HPOP at 101K miles, and the FICM worked on around 99K miles.
