oily air

hey guys, just curious...exactly how much oil is 'normal' in the intercooler and boost tubes? I installed my Banks cooler 6 months ago and there was a coating inside the cooler and the tubes...I just pulled off the intake manifold today and there was a puddle in the tube ,doesnt seem very good to me?!

that is quite normal....there will be more oil than you would ever suspect in the charge air system....just look at the picture of the manifold in the link below (third pic down)...that manifold had not been run (the motor had not been started) for a couple days...and even then there was quite a bit of oil, and there will be three or four times that much oil in a motor that has been run daily.....Marc
