Hi I have an 04 was driving on interstate at 75 MPH was running perfect just shut off now wont restart did get it started once but ran like crap and it shut off no idea where to start looking.... studs headgaskets oil cooler all new o rings on injectors and egr delete 700miles ago. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
oh I also have a power module that was on #5 setting at time it shut down I put it back stock still no luck
The 1 time I did get it to start a whole bunch of white smoke came out smelled like fuel would the hoop cause this still. When cranking it does register on dash gauge
Depends on your plans for the truck. I'm not sure how expensive OEM is vs. aftermarket either. I would check prices of both and if it's around the same price for aftermarket, I would personally go that way.
There is a 6mm allen screw on the drivers side of the fuel filter housing under the hood. Remove plug, install adapter and gauge and check it from there.
Honestly, I can not answer that question but going by what you have described in the first post it definately sounds like a fuel issue. I suggested testing the FICM first because all you need is a volt meter and few simple hand tools to check it. Not everyone has an adapter and gauge to check fuel pressure.
Ok well when I let the air bubbles get out of the secondary filter it would start and smoke white smoke and then die but the last time I tried to start it. It sounded like it was hydrolocked and wouldn't turn over just my luck
they and o-rings all new 700 miles ago just not sure about it pumping air into the secondary bowl making it sudsy looking until the air bubbles go down
There was a member on here that had the same issue a few days ago and I think he determined it was the pump. I wanna say he was only around 35 psi but not 100% sure.
well it was cranking until last time it started and shut down then it is acting like it is hydrolocked so i guess i gotta pull glow plugs and see if itll blow out whatever is in there? and i gotta get a psi tester.
My bud had same thing on 05 350 psd for and it was high pressure oil pump that drives injectors, had ford do the fix for $1700 and it ran. Ford also told him he needed a new FICM , he was at my place today, nowi'm looking around for replacement.
