2004 E350 melted coolant reservoir and oil filter housing.
2004 E350 with 117,000 miles pulls in the shop today. Had started smoking white about 2 hours prior and he stopped to let it cool down for an hour then he proceeded to drive it another hour until he couldnt go anymore and pulled into the shop. I checked it with my scanner before opening the hood and sure enough, oil temperature was 270!!!!!!! Needless to say after opening the hood and smelling the unmistakable smell of burnt metal and oil I could quickly tell this engine was toast. I then looked at the coolant bottle and noticed it was melted as well as the degas bottle cap that was melted as well. And after removing the oil filter and seeing the plastic standpipe melted it was fairly obvious. Always watch your gauges and pull over when the truck screams at you and spits all it's coolant out!!!!! It was a company truck so that explains the negligence. Also I could see shiny specks of metal in the oil fill tube. DAMN

I'll post some tomorrow. When I get the engine out, since I have to pull the oil pan anyways, I'm gonna get some real good pics.
