Blowing hose off??
i was driving home and my pickup started making boost and blew the hose off the turbo and i was wondering if there's any special tricks to keep this from happening other then cleaning the oil off and tightening the hell out of the clamp

Get it good and clean and use a little hair spray (no, I'm not kidding!) or some Permatex High-Tack adhesive on it. Mine was blowing the inter-cooler tube out of the turbo hose, too. First time it did it I thought I blew my tranny. I put a mark on the tube to monitor how much it pulls out. Hasn't been a problem since I glued it.
Good luck. |

Mine also started to blow after I discovered I had a cracked hose, so I replaced it with one from Dorman off of Amazon. I was reading on here and got a tip to use RTV silicone adhesive, and so I cleaned it, put the rtv on both ends and clamped to the appropriate torque, let it cure over night, and it hasn't blown since.
