6.0 stalls at 1500rpm
I have a 2003 6.0 PSD that is hard to start, it will fire up for a sec then shut down, once it does start it runs fine at idle up to 1500 rpm, at that point it immediately shuts down to an idle and sometime shut off while the accelarator is still depressed. if i run it up in neutral real quick it will pass the 1500 rpm point and maintain rpms, but the second you let off it stalls, but if you gradually raise the rpms in neutral it will still go to an idle at 1500. Also when it reachs the 1500 rpm point and goes back to idle the glow plug light comes on and flashes. please help.

anyone...its not a HPOP stall, HP oil pressure is fine, not an egr problem, i'm leaning towards a FICM or a wire harness short any other ideas?
EDIT: Pulled codes with Modis: p381 glow plug indicator P675 cylinder 5 glow plug circuit P2284 ICP sensor circuit range/performance 2614 Camshaft position output circuit open P2617 Crankshaft signal output circuit open After clearing codes truck contiunes to die at 1500 rpm and the P2614 is the only code that continues to reoccur. Going to try a cam sensor off another truck. Would oil foaming cause this condition as the oil is 2-3 quarts overfull. Last edited by JDRP; 02-17-2011 at 11:09 AM. Reason: update on information |
