Clamp up the y pipe and down pipe first, before you put the bolt the turbo to the pedistal. If you already have the bolts in the turbo from the pedistal, take them out until you have the other stuff done. I've never heard of the 03 up pipes being any different from later years, but that doesn't mean it's not true. I would just doubt it until proven wrong.
