Help! cruise control inop, going on a trip soon!

Howdy fellas,
The cruise control in my 05 CC sb 4x4 6.0L is inoperable.

It does nothing when any buttons are pushed, no lights on the dash no hiccups etc. Checked the manual, no fuse listed for it. Whats the next step?

I will be going on a several hundred mile trip next week and it would really be nice to have it rockin by then.

Any ideas?

Thanks a ton in advance!

P.S. I tried search and nothing!

It does indeed, as do the stereo controls. The button lights are illuminated when the headlamps are on but no dash lights. I was thinking it might be an electrical connection issue, but am leaning in a different direction.

Brakes lights aren't stuck on are they? If everything works except the cruise control switch, I would check the pressure switch that is mounted in front of the master cylinder. If you can get a good scan tool, you can monitor the cruise switches on it.

Hmm, yes the brake lights are functioning normally. Would that throw a trouble code? I have a tuner that reads codes but not an actual scan tool.

Is there a means of testing the switch?

And thanks a ton for the quick response!

Don't think it would throw a code. Don't know how you can test the actual switch but you could disconnect the switch and jump the terminal on the connector to bypass it. Test drive it real quick with it bypassed. If it works then you know the switch is bad.

In my owners manul, there is a 2amp fuse listed. It will probably show "Brake pressure switch/speed control". It is located in spot #24 which is the very top fuse on the right side of the fuse block behind the dash panel.
