Crank Shaft Position Sensor - 3 time the charm

I have a 2004 E350, 6.0L , that was made into a 2005 Sportsmobile. GVW is 9600 lbs.

On three occasions I have been left stranded. The code I read while the 6.0 POC will not start is for a crank shaft position sensor failure - I've replaced the sensor three times - and on a van with a Dana 60 where it shouldn't be it is no easy feat.

Any thoughts or ideas would be welcome.
