high pres. fuel loss, bucking while spooling up

I have a late model '04 f-350. back in august, I was taking off from a stop light when as I was gaining rpm's and mph to shift from 1st-2nd, my truck abruptly lost power. not electronic power, fuel power. immediately the wait to start and water in fuel warning lights came on. I dipped the clutch and the truck idled fine so i took off once more no problem. Since that initial occurance it has probably happened a few hundred times over the course of 6 months and 7,000 miles. It seems to happen at anytime; cruise control set at 65, taking off from a dead stop, or climbing a hill in mid rpm range etc. These are likely coincidences but it seems to happen more often when I'm in stop and go traffic or towing a light load 3-6000 lb range, but it has happened with no load or 14,000lb range.

Yesterday it got really bad. In a 250 mile trip towing an unloaded car hauler (2500lb) it did it over 30 times. At one point the bucking got so bad that when the two warning lights listed above came on so did the cruise control indicator light. Granted it was just a flash but it came on none the less. It eventually got so bad that the check engine light came on. My coder gave me codes of p2614 and p2617?

When this happens I can usually alleviate by up or down shifting. If I don't dip the clutch it will keep bucking or stall. Mechanics I've spoke with said its going to be expensive to diagnose so just drive it till I can't.

Some possible thoughts: EGR, fuel pump, wiring, turbo.

Other notes, my truck is a single cab, f-350 4x4 that I use 50% for commuting, 50% towing, its a stick and is completelty stock. Other than 2 replaced egr's never had anything wrong with it. I have 97,000 miles on it.
