04 6.hard start running bad

i just replaced my ficm becuase it was bad an now my truck runps terrible untill copletely warmed up.i had it scanned today and it pulled up icp. need help im working with a budget right now and not sure what to do next

who told you your FICM was bad, and did you test the ICP before you replaced the FICM. If you have a bad ICP you will have the same effects as a bad FICM. If the ICP is bad now, you have to replace it. Your electrical injector system pretty much consist of the FICM, ICP sensor, and the electrical components of the injectors.

well i got a code for it a couple tines and the local diesel tech said it was out so i just figured it was. he checked it out today while i was there and the icp sensor didnt come up but we did a balance test and my number 6 injector was missing but im not sure whats going on because i was told that a bad icp sensor will mess with injector readouts

how do you test the icp i was gonna take one out of a friends truck and see if it fixes my issue

I just wanted to make sure you tested the ficm befroe replacing it because a lot of people will replace them when it is the icp. It is hard to tell if an injector is actually bad if the ficm, or icp is bad. They both will send injector codes. not sure if it works, but I have been told you can test an icp without a scanner by unplugging it while the truck is running. i have never tried it nor do I know if this is true. Good idea by using a friends, but make sure his is not a 2003. different icp and it is mounted differently on the 2003's

his was an 06 we tried it today and no luck. im not sure what to do i want aftermarket injectors but not sure how hard it is. i cant aford to buy then and have them put in so i might just do the one for now.

well i need injectors. im thinking about elitediesels 155 cc's , fs 2500,and a fuel pump but im not sure its costly and not sure if i want to do this anyone else have these mods that likes them should i do anything esle at the same time im trying to keep the cost down

Not sure where you are at, I see you asked how to test the ICP, check out the troubleshooting guide in my sig. Its buried in there, good luck and its like a 99.9% chance the info you need is here, you just have to find it
