Wont start after reassembly

To start off its been below freezing here for the last two days. My truck is in a shop that gets pretty cold but not freezing(35-40). I put the truck all back together and cannot get it to start. Today I plugged it in and let it get warm and still no go. It has a quarter tank of fuel in it and I changed both fuel filters before I put the cab back on. I could hear the pump on the frame making noise but I couldnt get the top fuel filter to fill so I poured diesel straight into there. About three water bottles full. Ive drained the brand new batteries twice cranking it so much and I dont want to put any more wear on my starter than needed. I feel like its a fuel prime issue. Also it sounds like there may be a lifter knocking when cranking. Could that be because it hasnt started and does not have oil in every area that it normally would? I changed the oil cooler and heads. Im just at my wits end with this thing. Im pretty sure its not an electrical issue but if it were what could I start to check?
Thanks in advance
Caleb

well i just installed a new harness on mine and forgot to plug in the cam sensor...i swear we checked everything over and over 10 times before coming across it. Truck just cranked and cranked. Maybe i am the only dummy but maybe worth checking over. Good luck.

I would start with a check to the sensors it needs to run just make sure they got plugged in. Like crank and cam sensors. And if you aren't getting fuel that is another problem. Check all your fuses and check for power to the fuel pump. Your upper fuel bowl should fill in seconds with the cap off and having someone turn the key on. Also go thru the "no start checklist" thread.....as time consuming as it sounds it really helps out.

Did you replace the dummy plugs and standpipes and stc fitting... also try a little diesel 911 in the tank you might have a restriction in one of the lines because of the cold... i know my friends garage is 10 degrees warmer than the outside temp... and it has been damn cold here -4 this morning so that might be the problem...
