best coolant to use in a 6.0
Ive read bad things about the ford gold coolant. what would be the best alternative to use?

You just opened up a can-of-worms with that question. I think you would be best to do a search on coolant flush's.

What he said! Anything with the EC-1 rating is good to go. Cat, Texaco, Shell, Peak, Zerex, and others make ELC with the EC-1 rating. You can find this at any large/commercial diesel shop or have it ordered in at Napa, O'Reilly's, Advanced Auto, etc.

Thanks for the help, Im about to have alot of work done to my truck and want to flush the radiator and cooling system really good before the new parts go on.

Anyone try Evens NGP+? I found it on diesel site.com and was wondering. P.S. What is the advantage of a EC-1 over the Ford gold?

i personally use aft. it does well on temps.

Definitely check out PGreenSVT's posts on ELC ... I've learned alot from him ... it's nice to have opinions and knowledge from someone who actually knows what he's talkin about !
