died after starting
Thanks in advance for any and all help.
Truck is a 2005 f250 4x4 with 6.0, 64000 miles, pure stock, I have owned for about 3 months. Truck ran fine 2 days ago (150 mile trip) Went out this morning (36 deg) to start and warm truck for the day. The truck started like normal, ran about 5 sec and knocked off. Tried to restart, acted like battery was low. Dealer had replaced pass. side battery before I got truck (850 cca). Drivers side was factory original. Pulled both batteries, went to Interstate, test batteries, factory battery bad, other one was good but low charge. Get new 1000 cca battery. Installed both batteries, put charger on old one. After charging 2 hour, truck will turn over sluggish but not start. When trying to start, oil gauge will twitch but not move up. I am not a big wrench turner, but I like to try to fix what I can. So what are simple things I can try or does this sound like a trip to the shop? Mickey |

Well, the shop just called. The a/c compressor has locked up keeping the belt from turning, which keeps the motor from turning over. In the process of trying to crank it, the started is about fried. They pulled the belt off and it started up, but could tell the starter was dragging. So, $1200 later I should be able to get my truck back Friday, maybe.
