Block Heater
Searched everywhere and can't seem to find any posts so --
My block heater has been working all winter but now it seems like it's not. I checked and I have 120v going to the actual heater in the block. However when I go start her up in the morning the glow plugs are on longer than they used to be and she rumbles like she was ice cold. I checked between the two leads on the actual heater and they have good continuity. Do the actual heaters go bad? If so are they easy to change? It looks like you can just unthread it. How can I test to see if mine is bad? Thanks in advance for your help |

I had one go bad.. If you test the ohms between the two terminals on the block heater they should be aroun 12-16ohm I believe when I tested mine. They aren't too difficult to change once you have the right size socket. The other bad part is about a gallon of antifreeze will dump on you too.. believe i know.
