'05 6.0 F350 maybe has diesel in oil

guys, i'll research some more on the site, but thought i'd throw a question out there.
i gotta friend who changed his oil and almost filled a 5 gallon bucket with used oil, and maybe diesel. he thinks it's diesel. i didn't see it. anyhow the truck runs fine, he pulls his backhoe with it.
he also thinks there might be some oil in the coolant, he told me today that it looked a little dark or filmy.

he doesn't get real worried about it because it's under warranty, but he's had the thing in the dealer like 3 times, about the turbo not going oil and whatnot.

i got a 7.3 and never look on the 6.0 pages, but any help would be appreciated. he's not a computer guy.

any recalls on the 05's or rebates, he takes it to the dealer, but it screws him on being out a truck for 2 weeks.

what would yall do?

he can afford a new one, but doesn't have time to mess with anything but dozing work. i told him there's got to be a recall, rebate, or to really pressure a sales guy about it.
thanks, if ya respond and it takes me a while, it's cause this computer is slower than a rice burner.

oh yeah, no mods on the truck, and it's an auto

if there was diesel in the oil, it will be very noticeable. besides it could have been overfilled previously in a oil change. there is no programs out about the oil cooler, but it is covered under the 5/100k. besides if the oil cooler is busted, the tech will want it early because ford is really coming down on us about flush time to get the oil out.

From my understanding, if it was the oil cooler there would be oil in the coolant. Now from what I gather the oil cooler is like the one on the 5-ton military trucks. It has a copper tube that looks like a honey comb. That has the oil in it. Then engine coolant sorrounds the oilcooler. usually there is a seal that goes and since the oil is under more pressure then the coolant the oil ends up in the coolant. If this is a problem it is a pain to flush out. I hated doing them when I was in the Corps.

Hopefully Marc can clarify if my understanding on the 6.0L oil cooler is correct.

But I suggest take it to a dealership and let them look at it. But I do know that the 6.0 does hold alot of oil like a whole gallon more then the 7.3L. So if he was about 3/4 full on a 5 gallon bucket. I would think that is normal. Heck the 7.3L almost holds 4 gallons.
