Final answer: FICM

Well, I got my answer on the issue I was having with my truck lately. I was thinking it was just major stiction. Changed the oil (over to Mobil 1 10w30) and added 8oz Rev-X. Well, things started looking up quick! Truck would start right up very quickly even in 20*F weather this morning. But it still had a "lope" to it. (I have a video BUT I have a Mac and can't figure out how to load it) The lope smoothed out after about 20 seconds of idling. So, I thought I just needed to give the Rev-X more time....because it had only been in for about 120 miles and need 1000.
Well, this afternoon I was leaving work and she would not crank at all! Maybe a little "hit" here and there but nowhere near starting! Don't flame me for what I did next because I HAD to get it home. But I got here running with a can of Ether. Drove it to my cousins automotive shop to pull the codes. Got "low circuit voltage" on all injectors, "FICM performance" and such. I'm going to test the FICM tomorrow with a meter just to confirm but I believe that was good enough confirmation.
So, i've contacted Swamps. I just can't decide if I want to stock 48V FICM or the HOT 58V. What do you guys think? WHat would be my benefits? My truck is never going to be wild on performance. Just some strong SCT tunes in the future.

Thanks!
Jeremy

Yea I figured the extra $50 for it should be a no-brainer, but just wanted to check. I'm waiting on them to respond....

Thought about it, but is it totally worth it? What does it improve?

Im in the same boat as you right now. Was hoping it was stiction and starts definately improved after switching oils and adding hotshots secret, but still have the lope like you described.

Tested just a few minutes ago.....
Key on volts= 26VDC
Starting volts=28VDC

It did spike to 46VDC twice and kinda sputtered but nothing significant.

And it never started so I couldn't test running voltage but I believe this is enough proof for me! Calling Swamps in the morning to get the 58V FICM overnighted.
