studs are in

Thanks for all info and helpfull input from here. My head gaskets have been leaking for years and I don't think it has ever run this smooth and quiet. EGT's are down, heat works like a champ, no more coolant puking. I'm in love with my truck again and hope to find someone to play with on the way home from work today.

congrats dude. I saw you did them yourselves, what kind of experience do you have and what advice would you give to someone looking at doing it themselves?

I have no diesel experience, I'm a 351c guy. It's not so bad if you have the tools. I was pretty nervous about doing it but like everyone says it's pretty straight forward. I used ALLDATAdiy.com :: Leading Source of Diagnostic and Repair Information for torque specs and any instructions I needed. I was not planning on my heads needing a rebuild so I was bummed about that cost but it all worked out. The one tool I didn't have was a torx bit narrow enough to properly torque the injectors. Make sure you have a ride to get parts and tools if needed and take your time. Stay organized with parts and bolts when you take them off. Do your research and get everything you can afford. Clean everything before it goes back on.
