machine shop says
I dropped my heads off this morning. A few hours later they said all the intake valves and guides are worn. $1125 for parts and labor if I want it done right. That includes resurfacing, cutting valves, and the whole bit. Is this common for 70k miles?

No, the valves and the guides are not worn. I have never seen valves wear out on a 6.0L and and I work on them all day long. They are full of it. And dont have them resurfaced if they are not warped, just clean them with purple scotchbrite pad and foaming carb cleaner.

I'm probably getting ripped but i have no ride while my truck is down. My gaskets have been leaking for about 3 years now so I just want to finish it. I'll have find someone else for my other projects.
