I have gotten the following two codes a few times in the last few months
They go away quickly, and I notice no other issues. They are P0269 and P0278...It has only done it when the engine is cold, and it does idle a little bit rough when first cranked in cold weather....about 29 degrees or less. I change oil every 5000 miles...and fuel filters every 15000 miles...mostly highway driving, and not a whole lot of heavy towing...The truck has about 136,000 miles on it. and I run Stanadyne performance formula almost every fill-up It has an edge programmer on it, but I have been running the stock tune for about 6 months now...I have never run anything more than the Tow tune. Please help explain what could be the issue. Thanks in advance, Tim |

could be that those two injectors are failing. could be sticktion try running some rev x in the oil to clean the mechanical side off the injectors. you could also put it on a good scanner and run a buzz and contribution test on the injectors.

Thanks Optimus, may I ask what a buzz test is, and can a Ford Dealership do this?
Will this test determine if it is failing injectors or FICM? Thanks, Tim |

Optimus, by the way I also ordered two 4 oz. bottles of Rev x as well...Maybe this will help my problem.
Have you used Rev X yourself? The stuff is really expensive, but hopefully you get what you pay for in this case! |

I know this is old, but did Rev X help? The 05 in my sig also idles rough only when its cold out and I pulled the same P0278 code.
