FICM/PCM Problem

Hey everyone, my father's 6.0 is having another problem. He was driving back from his buddy's house, and the truck just died when he pulled out onto the road. He put in new batteries and a new starter motor, and now when he cranks it it blows white smoke. He's thinking there is air in the fuel system, but as well he thinks that the FICM is not getting enough power, or no power, and causing the injectors to not work right. What part of the fuel system/power system isn't working?
