please help!

I am new here and to diesel's
My truck is a 04 and every now and then while driving down the road it feels like I am riding over lots of small bumps that are close together.it only does it every now and then, not all the time but it is getting more frequent. (when I stomp the gas or let off it stops) I started getting a little black smoke when I would hit it to pass someone. brought it to dealer twice. I was told even thought its throwing codes, unless they can get it to duplicate the prob. there's nothing they can do beside guess whats wrong. I spent about $260 for them to say I cant find anything wrong.. I changed out the egr because it needed to be changed any way(nothing changed).
today truck was warm and went to take off and it hesitated then took off.
I checked my edge and it is throwing 10 codes I cant afford to bring it back to dealer for them to charge me another $120 and say ? don't know.

These are all showing injector test, and you need a scanner for further diagnostics. Someone with auto enginuity or something that could hook up to your truck and read what it's saying as your having the said problems would give you realtime data to analyze and hopefully get some answers.

What year is the truck? How many miles? Stock truck? etc. etc.
How cold was the truck when this happens?
What's the temp. outside when these problems show up?
What type of oil? How long do you run before an oil change?

Just a few questions, maybe they will help us (the site) help you out.

also just replaced fuel filter

year is 04
miles 99080
mods- edge platinum with juice, air intake,duel red top optima 6'' lift with 37'' tires
temp outside is anywhere from 90 to 30 outside does not matter what temp when the prob, happens.
oil used is- rotella changed every 6 to 7 thou. miles

Do the voltage test on your FICM.

Based on the information provided by the original poster, we can chalk this one up to yet another 6.0L that needs a FICM replaced, END OF DISCUSSION. And if the dealer wasn't able able to duplicate/diagnose this very common issue at the time of the visit, I suggest he searches elsewhere to find someone who CAN diagnose the issues with these engines.

Sounds like idm to me but not 100%

I have just read about doing that test. I will try and do it within the next day. If that is my problem is the only option a Ford part or is there a less expensive alternative? Thanks

IDM is on the 7.3l It is the injector drive module. Pretty much the FICM...
