help

Just bought a 05 f-250 6.0 harley davidson edition and I love it. I tried to call the original owner before I bought it but could not get him. Hopwever one week after buying this 30000 dollar truck i finally get him on the phone. He said the truck never had a problem and was taken very good care of and never abused but he said he traded cause he trades every 2 years regaurdless but he did notice that after towing a while the coolant would be a little low. Could this be caused by just towing alot or do I need to be conserned about the dreaded head gasket problem that I just learned about on here. It does have a edge programmer but always on level one never ran on level 3. So if you seen multiple post but I am a little paranoid now that I got on here and read the 6.0 problems cause I tought I was buying a tank! Man I love this truck I think!

saw a post on here about a new coolant level mark being one inch below the original mark. maybe some one will chime in. do you ever add coolant?

i guess that no codes are present. my suggestion would be to drive, watch the coolant level. do not add coolant if it settles in at around one inch below the factory mark. if it continues to drop below that level you have a problem. oh, and by the way , WELCOME TO THE FORUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

headgaskets will usually leave their mark on your hood. if you dont notice any spray with the correct fluid level ( min line ), then it could just be an egr cooler.
