iddler squeaking

Want to know if the idder pully is a warrenty item or not.
the pully is located under the powersteering pump. at least i think it is a iddler pully. or how much it will cost to fix. it is on a 03 6.0 with 51,000 miles on it. it will eventually lock up and then tear up the belt right?

I am not sure what kind of idler pulley the 6.0 has but the idler pulley bearing on the 7.3's is a 5-10 min fix. It is a 2-3 dollar cost at most parts stores. The part no. is 6203-2RS. This is a very common bearing. Drive it out of your pulley using a block of wood or socket that matches the size of the bearing. Be sure to get new bearing at the right placement in idler pulley for correct alignment with belt.

king ranch....first of all what milages is on your truck. No, the idler isnt covered under the 5/100 powertrain, but yes it is covered under the bumper to bumper 3/36000 warranty. also, make sure your diagnosis is right because i have also run into the water pump pulley squeeking and or tearing the belt up. there is an updated pulley for it. it isnt very fun trying to get that fan and shroud out on the 6.0's to do it yourself if you dont have the right tools......its not like a 7.3 where everything was accessable..........Marc
