Turbo Rebuild/Unison ring questions
I Had my turbo out for a EGR delete last weekend and noticed a few things. The first is that the compressor side seems to have a lot of up/down play but not in/out play. How much up/down is too much?
Second I noticed the Unison ring has a bad wear spot in it in the cam slot. I assume the previous owner let it idle a lot and it wore in that position. I would like to know where i can get one? Everywhere I've looked they want to sell me an entire turbo when i just need the ring. I'm also wondering if the vanes should be replaced with the ring?
