WEIRD ISSUES HELP!!!

my brothers truck has been having some issues for the past year...

he described random rpm jumps while driving and sitting at stops. he said sometimes they drop so low the ruck dies, and sometimes jump high and take the truck away from him.

i told him it was probably a sensor of some kind but i wasn't positive.

any help is appreciated

my sisters truck was doing that it was a 7.3 but it could be the same it ended up being the turbo. pull the air cleaner assy. off the turbo and see if there is any play in the shaft
it could still be something else but worth a chech hope it helps
