Injector Shorting out???

I have a 2003 F250 SCSB 6.0. I have been having problems with intermittent missfiring. The truck will blow blue smoke when it's missing. Its got a new HPOP, IPR, ICP, and EGR. The FICM is good and has been checked. A buddy of mine told me that sometimes the, I'm going to call it a gasket, goes bad on an injector causing it to short out??? This seems to make perfect sense to me but wanted to confirm it.

What do you guys think? Does it make sense to you? Is it plausible?
