Are these problems related
My 06 F250 seems to be giving me a few problems, I was just wondering if these are related? 145K on the truck. 100% stock.
Runs rough when cold. I go out and start it every morning, it starts right up no matter how cold it is outside, and idles perfect within a few seconds. I let it idle for about ten minutes before driving. When I pull out of my neighborhood, the truck feels like it is missing and is very sluggish for the first three to five minutes. After that she runs well. I have noticed however that it still feels like it is missing on light or moderate acceleration. If I really get on it once it is warm, no problems, accelerates quickly and without any miss or hesitation. I tested the FICM when cold with a Scanner 48+ volts. Injectors passed the buzz test when cold and warm, egr valve has been cleaned, fuel filters new, oil and oil filter changed, air filter changed. No codes current or pending. |

When yours was acting up, did it just seem as if it didn't want to move unless you really got on it? If I mash it to the floor, the turbo spools up and the truck accelerates quickly and will do this from a stop or at just about any speed. If I try to leave a red light with light or moderate throttle, it just feels like it is missing. The turbo sounds like it always has, it holds plenty of boost and I don't see my tach jumping, it just does not accelerate smooth during light acceleration, feels like it is struggling. No smoke, not even on start up on a cold morning, like I have read that many others experience.

Mine was doing same thing. Dealer changed IDM as they were once called, or FICM. Also changed the EGR valve. Said number 6 injector was sticking a little on startup. That cleared up within a few days.
