Major Problem with a ton of questions.
2004 250 cc sb 4x4 6.0
dad used truck to go run around. Said it started to Over heat. Added water and it was fine then start dwn road again and just before he got home it over heated again. Now we try and start and it clicked like dead battery. Charged for a few and now it acts like the motor it froz but it turns over every now and then but not all the time. So the questions are.... 1: did he just fry my motor? 2: could I just replace something to fix? 3: what is the cost of a new motor, installed? 4: is it hard to do myself to change the motor? 5: if it is something else can I do it mayself? |

Pull the glowplugs and try and turn the truck over. I say this because it could be hydralocked. If it is then it will not turn over and if you keep trying you could bend or break a rod or push rod.
I would do this, if it is hydra locked you need to figure out why it locked. Then you can go from there. |

Since I posted this I put the truck on a slow charge. Turned over and crank up like it always does. The thing now is that it poured water out the tail pipe. Is this a head gasket or even a egr cooler that could be doing this? Thanks for the fast reply BC!

Thanks guys. What is the cost to buy one and do either of you know how to tell me to replace it. You guys are great. I am becoming a full memeber next week after I get paid. Oh, can I dive it with the cooler bad or should I let it sit til I replace?

i wouldnt drive it like that. let it sit. also, if possible, you should delete that egr. that way this wont happen to you again!

Don't drive it and if it was me. I would look at the egr delete mod for your truck.

So I should just buy a egr delete and that will fix? How much where can I buy in the Dallas tx area and can you tell me how to install?
