HPOP and ICP Sensor replaced, now rough idle!!??
Hey Guys,
Got my truck yesterday back from the dealer... It was in for new HPOP and they replaced ICP sensor because it was leaking, and NOW my truck has rough idle.... RPM's are going up and down its not always, but if it idles for more than few seconds its starts to idle rough, or when i come to a stop and put it in park, it will start with rpm's going up and down..... Before that I had all 8 injectors replaced including the HFCM (2weeks ago) I am about to do oil change and see if its going to help, but really its driving me crazy now!! Any help will be appreciated! P.S Also i can smell like something is burning when I open my hood and my engine is hot.... not sure if its residual oil and crap from when they serviced HPOP and Injectors, or something is leaking now.... There was no bad smells before

I replaced the ICP and connector and now have the same problem. It runs fine off idle but at a stand still the idle surges and runs rough. White smoke is visible from the tailpipe only at idle and I also smell a burning or hot smell. I originally thought air could be trapped in the high pressure oil system so I did what the service information recommends and "drove it aggressively for 20mi." Problem is still there. Cylinder 3 contribution code keeps coming back in the memory but does not turn the check engine light on. No misfires stored on that cylinder either... did you end up finding out what the problem was?

I drove it harder, and replaced oil afterwards. That seems that it took care of the problem. It still has some occassional rough idle

anytime a 6.0 or 7.3 for that matter has the high pressure oil system opened up ( injectors, hpop, oil rails, standpipes ect.) the engine needs to be driven hard for a good 15-20 miles to clear any air in the system. until this has been done, you will have a choppy idle concern. if after you have ran itt hard for 20 miles, and it still runs choppy than you may have further issues.
