04 6.0 hg question

ok i went out bought a guage conected to my degas bottle hooked fifth wheel on it weighs 8,800 drove it for about 30 miles up steep hills pretty much stopping several times on the hill and got on it all times the guage really didnt climb that fast the highest i got up to was 17 psi then when i let of it would drop fast no puking put my scanner solus pro on it and my ect was 81 and the eot was 76 any help would be nice this is after takin my xcal 3 out or do i have nothing to worry about. ps no white smoke at all

ford says 15 degree differental max between eot and ect, I almost always see 21-22 psi or more when head gaskets are blown. are you having any problems to cause you some concern?

i took it to ford here in colorado because i went to pick up a fifth wheel and it puked a lot by the time i got home so i thought it was head gaskets i have a xcal 3 could that of caused it took the programmer out and didnt puke sinse ford told me that it was probably head gaskets sinse i blocked off the egr and welded the egr they said i was getting a little bit of gases in the bottle i dont know if its true or if there wanting my money im not to worried because when it climes to 17 psi and i let off a little it drops back to around 10 when loaded with my fifth wheel thanks for replying

I don't think the egr being blocked off has anything to do with it. What level is your coolant in the degas bottle? The min line is actually the new max line. I had the same problem when I tuned my truck and innovative told me to lower the coolant level. I too have my egr cooler blocked off and valve welded shut which should actually keep the coolant a little cooler. So to me there statement about that makes no sense. Mine hasnt puked since i lowered the level. Also, replace the cap at the same time. very inexpensive.

the coolant level is fine they added more coolant it has the updated bottle and cap.
