Whoever said it was going to cost that just for a turbo replacement is trying to bend him over hard. Tell him to read up on the procedure and replace it himself. There are good used turbos all over the for sale sections from roughly $300-500. You can get a new reman stocker or a modified VGT direct bolt in replacement for $1000-1400. Even if it's your first time R & R'ing a 6.0 turbo you can do it in an afternoon.
