More info is needed. year of truck, Motor,......
I deleted the muffler and gutted the cat and it sounded good evern with the crimped oem down pipe. Now I have 3" down pipe 5" straight and 7" stack and it sounds awesome. |

You'd be suprised how quiet it actually is. The turbo eats up a lot of noise but you should be able to get a pretty good growl. I put on a 4" Magnaflow kit with the muffler and no cat and it sounds pretty good but I didn't want my truck to be too loud.

Here's one from Farmboy's Diesel. It say's it's a straight pipe kit but there's a muffler in the picture.

Unfortunately most "Auto part Stores" like auto zone don't carry any exhaust pieces over 3" and you need a double female 3 1/2" for your "CAT Test Pipe" and because your muffler isn't the same side inlet/outlet you will have to make an angle change. It is easy I did it for a while until I bought a MBRP system...go to NAPA or a big truck parts store and they will have the pipe you will need! |

i had mine cut out and welded in straight pipe. still allows me to do a bolt on system later on if i choose to change it. at idle you can't tell, if your on the passenger side you will hear your turbo whistle. hit about 2500 rpm and build some boost it starts getting pretty loud. my friend could hear me over a half mile away when i got on it one night.
interstate going 75 you get a drone. go 73 its gone. go 78-79 its gone. so you just got to find that one spot to stay out of on the highway. my dad actually didn't notice it was straight piped for 2 1/2 months. made multiple 400+ mile trips with him during that time period. made sure not to give it to much gas when coming home late at night. he found out when i went in for warranty work and the service guy mentioned it in front of him.
