the best water pump?

hey im replacing the water pump on my 04 because the plastic impeller is shot. who has the best replacement pump, maybe one with a metal impeller?

Usually the bearing goes bad. I would go to an auto parts store. See what there pump looks like if you don't like it. Then don't buy it.

the impeller on the 6.0 is plastic and is known to seperate from the shaft.

I've only seen this happen on TWO trucks that I've wrenched on so far. Both were 2003 trucks coincidentally enough, with the smaller 95mm impellers. I understand it is possible to upgrade to the late 2004 to 2007 style pumps with the bigger impellers if you change the entire engine front cover, if I'm not mistaken. Sorry for the highjack, by the way.
