hydro lock

my egr cooler went out and i think my truck hydrolocked .where should i start i bought a bypass kit which i have not yet installed. i dont know whether i should get the engine to turn over first or replace the egr cooler first.and how do i get the engine to turn over from hydrolock the truck is a 2005 f-350 6.0

see if you can turn it over manually before going down the hydrolock trail.

put a medium sized breaker bar on the crank pully (main bolt in the middle) and see if you can turn it over by hand. If so, i doubt that it's locked

I think from what ive read, you have to pull the injectors. I thought i hydro locked mine last year becouse i sprayed a bunch of sea foam in the egr valve hole to clean the intake and it would not turn over. luckily I went out there an hour later and it fired. Man was I lucky. From what i've read, pulling the injectors is not that hard of a job. Sounds like a beer project to me.

Ya really do not need to pull injectors but pull the glow plugs for shure all of em.
These are small holes so just bump it over in stages and you and a friend watch each side an see where something blows out. Thats the leak/s.
