Starter free spools while starting.....

While starting, the starter will free spool sometimes. The batteries have plenty of voltage, and passed a load test just fine. Is it possible that the starter is bad?? Or maybe the battery cable to the starter?? Please help!!!!

your bendix drive could be gone when the starter just spins not engaging the gear to the the flywheel, if your in a bind you could hit the starter with a hammer sometimes that works for a quick fix. Otherwise rebuild or replace the starter
