What do I have in my truck?

I just bought my truck this weekend and the guy told me that he put an EGR delete kit in it. Its an 05 and all of the research that I have done on the delete kits this one doesnt look right. I am new to this and can someone please shed some light on this delima for me. Thx

That looks like a "block off" only. That plate that looks like the gasket next to it must be used to stop exhaust gas from going thru the EGR valve and the intake. That still could allow your EGR cooler to blow, most kits just completely do away with the EGR cooler, that kit looks like it just blocks the flow of EGR gasses, and keeps the cooler.

I knew that I wouldnt be lucky enough to buy a truck already deleted. Thanks for the info. I have had a 7.3 for the last 6 years and never needed any help because the truck never needed work. I guess now I will learn to be a diesel mechanic as well.
