Whats wrong

Hey guys,

I was towing my trailor with a four wheeler on it(Lite), going up a hill at 55mph stomped the gas to pass a car(tow mode) and when I hit 75 it stalled and the wrench light came on(I bought it used without owners manual). It wouldn't let me get over 2400 rpm's. All guages were good.This cleared up when i killed it then restarted it.....Does anyone have any idea what could be going on?? I am a little worried it could be something serious. 69k All stock 6.0.... I plan on takin it in 4 a check up monday... Thanks

LOTS OF PROBLEMS WITH MY 04 AND VERY LITTLE INPUT. if i were you i would run away from ford diesel. I am in a huge problem myself rite now with my first and last ford.good luck and hope you dont get stuck on the road with your autistic child for the second time like i did.

Could be your egr sticking open. Did it blow out any smoke and how did your turbo act when it was doing this? What year of truck again? Eric

Its an 05 with 70000 miles on it... I didnt look in my mirror but when the truck face-planted (i didnt think bout that..but i will if it happens again)..... i could only get to about 2300 RPMs.... the turbo guage only got to bout 10-12lbs at most.... But when i killed it then started it back it was fine..

Yea Mike I would do that as well. Take it in and see what code it threw. If it has the new flash they added a few things to throw the wrench light. It may of overboosted or the oil or water got to hot for the rpms that it was running. It may of went into limp mode until you shut it off and reset it. Let us know how it goes and what they found out. Eric
