almost sounds like a couple injectors sticking when they are cold. or possibly glow plugs are bad.

Lask year all new glow plugs, and right bank of injectors replaced, and new hpop. (not all at the same time) I do have a slight miss at idle but if I flash back to stock it goes away.

Yup, got it for free while trying to track down the dead injectors.

mine is not that bad.. but it's getting there.... my brothers was doing that and he replaced the batteries and that solved it for the time being.... maybe get your batteries checked? im subscribed for other suggestions as well.... i wouldn't think its the glow plugs if they were replaced last year....

My dad had the same thing happen to his truck ('04 6.0 86k miles) and he changed the oil and put a FS-2500 oil filtration kit on his truck and it solved his problem. The oil needs to be clean of particulates to fire the injectors properly. Hope this helps you.

It sounds to me like a updated dealer flash is in order. I had the same exact problem and took it and had the computer programming updated and it fires up instantly now. It recently died due to injectors and HPOP but before that it was cranking like a champ. I will say that it was having a warm start up problem but I think that was due to low HPOP pressure.
