P0404 Code.
Hey all,
I was out plowing yesterday and lost power blowing smoke all over the place. The truck then cleared out and ran great the rest of the day. I turned the truck off, had dinner and went out to leave. Got down the road about 3 miles and it did it again. It finally threw a code. It showed the P0404. EGR. I took the egr out and cleaned it, cleared the code and beat the snot out of the truck to try to clear the rest out. Well, today (not plowing) it did it again. Yesterday morning before heading out, I tuned the truck back to stock. Should I clean the egr again or try my xstreet tune in it? 53000 miles. I also went to the dealer and they said it is called coking? They suggested to clean out the entire intake which they would gladly do for $499 including an oil change. Any ideas? TIA |

i would just clean it yourself. take the intake out and get you some castrol super clean and spray the inside and let it sit take a pressure washer to it and flush it out real good. thats what i did and it came out spic and span no more crap in the intake at all. then do a ccv mod and that will keep the oil out of the mix.

Update
I sent it back to the Xstreet tune and it seems fine. Could the stock file be corrupt? |
