Engine Warranty

since i got my engine replaced, i can't seem to find an accurate answer on the term of the warranty for it. the service manager told me that it runs out when my original warranty runs out, because it was replaced under warranty.

however, the paperwork that came with the engine states 24 months unlimited mileage.

another dealership told me 12 months unlimited mileage.

anyone know where i might find out

Be shure and hang on to that paperwork. There is no standard warrenty period, it varies from place to place. Generally it is 12 months but occasionally 24. There is no mandatory, as in set by law for this.

I had mine replaced at 101k (outside of warranty) and the new motor has a 100k warranty. But I would assume an in warranty replacement would be different.

i will definitely hang on to the paperwork.

my original warranty runs out in feb 2010 and the dealership keeps trying to push this $2500 extended warranty on me. i guess it might be worth it, if they won't warranty the motor after that without it.
