Very HOT Alternator
Truck has had a squeak under the hood so i cranked it up and its about 40* outside. I let it idle for about 4min or so then killed it. Started feeling pulleys to see if any were hot and none were then i felt the alternator and it was HOT. As in it will burn you if you touch it for a second or two. Also its the second alternator in 6 months...
Any ideas? I have lifetime warranty on the alt if it matters. |

Check belt alignment and tension. Some times ya may get several bad alternators in a row. It seems there is no more quality control anymore.
