Lately is has been around 30 degrees in the mornings and my truck has been starting right up but just sounds rough and blows white smoke for about ten seconds but when I plug in the block heater there isnt a drop of white smoke and idles just fine. Does anybody no what this could be?

its natural for a diesel to do that, the colder it gets the harder it is for them to start, right now in Canada it's been -20 c or -4 f and my trucks been pretty cranky when it comes to starting
